Sonnenborgh - museum & observatory in Utrecht is a public astronomical observatory and museum open to the public. It was founded in 1853 as a university observatory (of the University of Utrecht) and from 1854 until 1897 it was the first home of the Royal Dutch Meteorological Institute.
Utrecht is the capital and most populous city in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is the fourth largest city in the Netherlands. Utrecht's ancient city centre features many buildings and structures several dating as far back as the High Middle Ages.
